Crispin and the Great Tree
By P.S. Naumann
What started as a curious adventure became a race against time and power…
In 1930, a young boy named Crispin, who is seven-and-a-half years old, disobeys his parents by entering the forest and climbing the towering great White Pine tree he can see from a window in his home. However, he soon discovers that the great tree is suffering from a galloping deadly disease. To save it, he must set out on a quest, which he has only two days left to achieve.
The wicked Archduke Axel, the so-called “Leopard of Tryce,” continually threatens to prevent Crispin from saving the great tree. Luckily, Crispin receives help and guidance from a wolf, a falcon, and a young man who drives a Pierce Arrow. In a race against time, the boy and his companions try to follow cryptic clues that the Leopard of Tryce has devised to insure the fall of the tree, before their time runs out…
